About The Author:

Sarah Jansen is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in the Nutrition and Dietetics faculty of the School of Allied Health Sciences at Griffith University in Queensland, Australia. She is a qualified Accredited Practicing Dietitian, gaining her Master's degree from Griffith University. She completed a Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition and sport and exercise science from Massey University, New Zealand, and an Honours Bachelor of Public Health degree in nutrition and health promotion from Griffith University.

Sarah has been involved in several different areas of nutrition research, including nutrition for people with dementia, sports nutrition and obesity management in primary care. Her main focus currently is obesity management in primary care. Her doctoral dissertation aims to develop tools to assist primary care physicians to help patients manage their weight. Sarah's degree is funded by a scholarship from the Australian Government – the Australian Post-graduate Award – awarded to students of exceptional research potential.

Sarah has published two articles on nutrition for people with dementia, as well as several other articles on various nutrition topics, in peer-reviewed journals. She hopes to remain in the field of nutrition research after completing her doctoral degree.
