or at least some stuff about me

my name is Jesse Devlin Starflower, and yes, i am from Southern California, why do you ask? i haven't been there in a while, but here's some pictures of me there. later i moved to Northern California, but we still got earthquakes there. i happen to be something of an introvert, as if the whole "lurker" thing didn't give that away. you'll excuse me if this description seems slightly sparse, i don't particularly like talking about myself to strangers.

i am currently on leave of absence from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. i find that out here where people are reduced to millions of ones and zeros floating around from hard drive to hard drive, it's nice to know something about the personality of the people you're talking to. i've discovered that a really good way to figure something about them is to know what kind of music they like. therefore, i've got a list of the music i own, so that other people have some kind of clue about me.

as for hobbies, i've got several that usually sit on the back burner for ages and then reappear. i spend a bit of time at SCA events. mostly with the College of Cour d'Or here at CMU. i use some spare time to draw mazes, only some of which have made it to electronic form. i also have written some poetry, but it tends to be a bit morbid.

as a student i have joined a couple of organizations and i still participate with most of them. i've been a fan of science fiction and fantasy since i was in elementary school back in Los Angeles. one of my favorite authors is Douglas Adams, author of the five book HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy "trilogy", the Dirk Gently series, and Last Chance to See among others. i am also a fan of Babylon 5, Star Wars, and Star Trek.

the graphic you see in a couple of the corners is my sigil, it is, in essence, a symbol for me, kind of like my name, but more encompasing. take a look at Ray's sigil page for more info about sigils.
