"Man is the only creature that strives to surpass himself,
and yearns for the impossible." --Eric Hoffer
Welcome! This is my "home" page. I am not quite sure what that means today. For the whole concept of a home page has changed dramatically since I first entered this land of technology. In the early days of 1995, I wrote my first home page. At that time, it was actually pretty standard for the file to be called home.html. I believe I was still using Mosaic at that time, or at most, Netscape 0.9. Back then, my page was just that...a single page with a bunch of links to other places on it. HTML was not much into formatting, and what was there wasn't necessarily supported on the browser. I had no pictures. The background was that boring gray. I remember an instance when I found a computer in a lab that did not even have a browser installed on it. At that time, the only way you could get anything onto it was through FTP. It was a difficult time, and a time of learning. At times I wish I could still live in that world. It was simple then. Design mattered not. I guess in some way I still live there. The extent of the HTML I use on a regular basis I've know since about 1996. I know where I can go to find out more current things, but for the most part, I don't need it. I have some strong opinions about HTML editors and I realize they are not all created equal. For my needs, though, I only use emacs. Now that I got that out, here are my web pages for the taking. If you have critiques, feel free to let me know, but take into account the world that I live in. I don't expend much effort learning new HTML skills, so you're stuck with this. I hope you enjoy your time here!
