Veterans Day

This is an important day in our calendar. Today we remember those who fought for justice, truth and freedom in this world. Specifically this holiday commemorates the war that was often called "The War to End All Wars." That means that those who lived through this war and fought in it sincerely believed that it would be the last. They believed that no one would ever wage war again after what they had seen, read and heard. They were astonished at the horrible things they were forced to do and never wanted it to happen again.

Why didn't we listen to them? I'm not just talking to some of us I'm talking to all of us. The best way to honor those who fought in this war is to do everything we can to prevent it from ever happening again.

On Moral Values

We the People have declared that we vote based on "moral values." I will try to illustrate some of these values for my foreign born friends who do not fully understand them. I hope my definitions are helpful.

Pro-Life
Someone is pro-life if they oppose terminating life. However to truly be pro-life you must believe that only fetuses are alive. Pro-lifers do not believe that life exists outside of the womb, as pro-lifers are typically pro-war, pro-death penalty and pro-environmental destruction.

Pro-Family/Pro-Marriage
Someone is pro-family or pro-marriage if they oppose any legal recognition of families that do not fit the "mother, father, children" model. Since the elderly no longer have children, they see no reason of Social Security. They don't believe that romantic love can exist between two people of the same gender. They are also opposed to birth control and sex education because this could encourage other "lifestyles."

Intelligent Design
Intelligent Design is a theory about the creation of humans. Many people believe that this should be taught alongside evolution as a theory for the origin of man. The Theory of Intelligent design states all living things were created by a single super-intelligent being (that also happens to be the god of Abraham). Norse, Hindu, Promise Keepers and Native American beliefs about the world's creation are not examples of intelligent design and should not be taught in science classes or mentioned in science texts alongside intelligent design.

Please feel free comment with your own definitions for moral terms.
