Hi. My name is Alycia Bencloski-Brashear but you can call me Aly. I live near Pittsburgh, PA USA. I have a lot of silly ideas and opinions so I've created various blog-like thinks to use as a creative outlet. I hope you enjoy your stay.
For the most part, my writing is not very good. I'm a dyslexic and I have a B.S. in mathematics. That probably explains a lot about my lack of writing skill. I mostly use this blogging stuff as a means to vent or to be funny. I often have what I think are funny ideas. I'll post them in my blog or in my Livejournal to see if they float or sink. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you either learn something or get a good laugh. It's okay if you find yourself laughing "at" me. I don't take myself too seriously.
I am currently working for an afterschool program at an elementary school near Pittsburgh, PA. I work with Kindergarten and First Grade. It's a lot of fun in a very challenging sort of way. I don't have a day job and that makes me available for private math tutoring for elementary school through college (references available).
I have recently created a blog for reviews as well. My New Year's Resolution for 2005 is to read 100 books with at least 50 of them being novels. Blogging about the books I read will hopefully keep me on track (especially if people read the reviews and prod me when I don't post anything often enough). I will probably also post movie reviews there. I go to The Oaks Theater in Oakmont, PA almost every Monday night for their discussions. So I should have plenty of interesting films to write about.
I do have hobbies outside of mathematics, reading and movies. I play the guitar and the viola (yes, I love the jokes). I also enjoy biking, photography, astronomy and politics.
