East Broad Top Railroad Models
I don't have enough space to build EBT models to traditional model railroad
scales, so I have concentrated on other projects, including some smaller
scale (non-operating) dioramas which are easy to fit in the basement
even without any selective compression.
Former EBT Baggage-Express #29 Returns Home
On September 5, 2002, Friends of the East Broad Top returned former
EBT passenger cars #18 and #29 to Pennsylvania. Here are some photos of
that event in HOn3.
Scale Test Cars in 1:20.3 (Fn3)
These are scratchbuilt from styrene and brass except couplers, wheelsets,
and a few metal detail parts. Rivets are individually made and glued on.
I ordered enough commercial parts for two cars as a precaution, and was
able to build a second with the extras. A rediculously detailed construction
article on them will appear in the FEBT Timber Transfer.
1:400 scale cars cast in metal
These cars are about 3/4 inch (2cm) long.
Rocky Ridge Station (1:2000?)
An initial experiment, this is from memory and not to scale.
Orbisonia Station (1:1500?)
This "large scale" allows the addition of details like
platform roofs and bay windows.
Rockhill Furnace (1:3000?)
Modeled as it appears today, except for some scenery details,
residential buildings, and some building/roof colors.
Shown here is one of the 4 copies made.
