These photos are presented in roughly chronological order. Person and vehicle identifications are always in the order from left to right. All photos taken with a Canon Eos RebelXS camera with either a Tamron 28-80mm lens or a Canon 75-300mm lens. Film is Kodak Gold 200 or Max 400. All photos in this section copyright 2004 by William Adams.

This was a special FEBT Rockhill Restoration work weekend. The plan was to rehabilitate caboose no. 28 in the off-season to avoid affecting the railroad's operation, with a rollout at the opening weekend in June. No other work was performed.

Caboose no. 28 [2004jan17,herald] 600x404 (42k) - 1200x808 (111k)
The herald and lettering sections were removed and saved.

Caboose no. 28 [2004jan17,cleanup] 600x410 (46k) - 1200x820 (112k)
Cleaning the loose debris from the platform after removing the deck boards.

Aughwick Creek [2004jan17,aughwick] 600x406 (40k) - 1200x811 (109k)
The Aughwick is nearly frozen over, which is understandable since it is below freezing. This is looking downstream from the old through truss on Runk Rd.

Caboose no. 28 [2004jan17,nosparks] 600x410 (49k) - 1200x820 (115k)
Cutting off rivet heads and stubborn pieces of old steel.

Rockhill yard [2004jan17,yard] 600x408 (23k) - 1200x815 (62k)
Volunteers' trucks in the parking lot. Ok, one is a car, but it's a Subaru! There were about 4 inches on the ground Saturday and overnight another two inches fell. The yard sure is tranquil in the falling snow.

Caboose no. 28 [2004jan17,platform] 600x411 (44k) - 1200x821 (110k)
Removing the deck boards from the other platform.

Caboose no. 28 [2004jan17,side] 600x410 (44k) - 1200x820 (128k)
West side of the caboose as sheathing removal begins.
