FEBT Rockhill Restoration, August 14-15, 2004

These photos are presented in roughly chronological order. Person and vehicle identifications are always in the order from left to right. All photos taken with a Canon Eos RebelXS camera with either a Tamron 28-80mm lens or a Canon 75-300mm lens. Film is Kodak Gold 200 or Max 400. This was the EBT's Community Appreciation Day. It was also an FEBT Restoration weekend in Rockhill Furnace.

To get the caboose ready for the Saturday morning rollout, volunteers were at work until 11pm on Friday. A few key volunteers spent many extra hours on the caboose throughout the entire week, finishing up the hardware, electrical work, roofing, and paint.

The boiler house wall, with masonry work completed, now gets some structural repairs to the wood. This section under the failed roof was completely rotted, and is being replaced.

The track crew takes a break from spiking as does the crew working on the boiler house wall in order to watch the train pass.

The new siding installed on the boiler house. The windows will be restored and reinstalled later.

FEBT has installed approximately 200 ties along track 3. This stretch is a good example, with all visible ties having been installed by FEBT volunteers.

Volunteers have cleared much of the wye, allowing this view for photographers and an equally good view for the crew backing the train.
