6/1989	TransarcCorporation founded to commercialize AFS
fall 1993	ArlaAFS project started at Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan
1998	TransarcCorporation becomes wholly-owned subsidiary of IBM
2000	IBM releases OpenAFS as OpenSource
